Phase II cadets are cadets that hold a CAP grade between C/SSgt (Cadet Staff Sergeant) and C/CMSgt (Cadet Chief Master Sergeant). These cadets are known as Cadet NCOs (Non-Commisioned Officers) When a cadet completes Phase II by earning the Gen. Billy Mitchell Award, he/she enters into Phase III. Below are some resources that will help you as you progress through Phase II. All of the material listed below should merely be added onto all of the knowledge listed for Phase I.
By now, you should know the drill. Keep studying this book and stay on track with your tests. You can always download this book by clicking Here. Be sure to understand all of the concepts presented in the reading. In order to pass the written leadership test to earn the Mitchell Award, you should understand all of the material from Chapters one through seven.
You should already know how to do both stationary drill and marching. Now that you are a Cadet NCO, it is time for you to start learning how to command others. Therefore, you should become familiar with the entire Drill and Ceremonies Manual. It can be downloaded by clicking Here. You should become familiar with how to use your command voice, on what foot different commands are called, and marching in larger units (squadrons, groups, etc.). It will also be essential for you to learn how to teach others about Drill and Ceremonies.
Just as in Phase I, you should be familiar with this manual. You can download it by clicking Here. You should be more than just familiar with this manual, however. You should have much of it memorized and be able to enforce those standards on the cadets under your command. Therefore, you are no longer just responsible for your uniform. You are now responsible for the uniforms of others as well.
You should have Civil Air Patrol Customs and Courtesies mastered by now. It is very easy to read through the CAP Pamphlet and become familiar with it, simply click here to download it. Because you now have Customs and Courtesies mastered, you must also be sure that the cadets under your command know them as well. You should also ensure that they not only know it but use proper Customs and Courtesies in everything that they do.
